Mission Statement:
Compete Green is an endurance lifestyle brand specializing in event management and eco-friendly apparel. Our mission is to enjoy healthy, endurance lifestyles while promoting sustainability and environmental awareness through our events. We strive not to just use our beautiful world, but to become a growing and symbiotic part of it.
Co-Owner Tom Taylor:
Tom has been a runner since 1990 when he first decided to run for his sixth grade cross country team. His love of the sport was cultivated at the south shore of Lake Michigan running through the soft, lush wooded trails of the Indiana duneland. After an enjoyable running career at Portage High School (IN) and Indiana University, Tom spent several years coaching small high schools to Division I universities. Now, after a move to California in 2009, Tom has continued his love of running and coaching while beginning to become a part of the local running and triathlon community. He has had a vision for several years to begin a “Green” running and racing organization that has now come to fruition as Compete Green.

Co-Owner Ben DeWitt:
Ben has been an endurance athlete since 2000 where he started running for his high school cross country team. After his running career took him to Colorado for college, he returned to his home town of Ventura CA, where he has dabbled in a little bit of everything from Adventure Racing to Xterra Off road triathlons where he went all the way to the world championships in Maui. You can often find him on the trails in Sycamore Canyon, which is his favorite training ground. His love of endurance racing and preserving the environment has finally come together with Compete Green.
